Greetings from Roy Grady, owner of Grady Enterprises, which is located in Elizabethtown, PA. I have been doing on-line sales for several years, primarily on eBay, and have 100% positive feedback there.
In 2011, We decided to open our own on-line store here on eCrater. We started with handmade greeting cards from our friends in Bangladesh and we also sold coins, antiques, and collectibles, hence the name "old-n-newtreasures". We no longer sell the "old treasures" here, but now keep this store dedicated to our trading partners in South East Asia, selling "new treasures" from there.
Later in 2011, we introduced the leather Bible bags which are custom made for us in Bangladesh. We started with two sizes and soon began to offer the large size bags, after many asked for it. In the summer of 2012, we began selling the Reversible Sari Wrap Skirts. These skirts are made from brand new saris, which are purchased in the markets there and are then taken to tailors who individually tailor them for us.
Below is some information provided by Kathal Kreations, our supplier for the cards. We are offering free shipping within the United States on all cards. Follow us on Facebook at "Old-n-newtreasures". There you will be updated whenever new products and styles are available.
Kathal, or jackfruit, is the national fruit of Bangladesh. Kathal Kreations is a resourceful group of women from the country of Bangladesh who use their own skills and their country's own natural resources to produce this completely handmade product. Much of the paper is homemade. Wheat straw, bamboo, and jute are hand processed into a form used on these cards.
Your support by purchasing this product gives opportunity to these courageous women to lead the way and show others in their poverty-stricken country how to be successful through initiative, enterprise and hard work.
Maria's Story: Maria is 32 years old. Her husband Dominic is a carpenter. Because of the economic stagnation in Bangladesh, he is unable to get more than occasional work. When there is no work, there is no rice for the family of four children. With Maria's card-making earnings, she was first able to buy a fan for their hot dwelling, then to move the family from the slum where they had lived to a one-room apartment in a better area. This put them near a school in which they have enrolled their sone Noyon, who is eight years old and going to school for the first time.
Minu's Story: Minu is 19 years old and lives with her widowed mother. She is a capable young lady and a good student. However she faced the prospect of having to discontinue her schooling due to lack of money. Now, with her card-making earnings, Minu is able to continue her studies.
